He aha te utu ? (what does it cost ?)

Today for te reo we learnt this new phrase he aha te utu , which in english means what does it cost ?.In the seasion I learnt some things that other people buy that I dont which was very intersting .Here in the google presentation is some questions that I filled out and answered , I enjoyed doing thjis task and learning new phases .Hope you enjoyed looking at my presntaion. Art colouring book (week 1 summer learning journey) Self-portrait with monkey

This is a project from the summer learning journey,today task was to go on to a website called Art colouring book,Google Art and we got to pick witch famous artist painting that we would like to create this painting that i have picked was called self-portrait with monkey.This piece of art,and piece of painting was made by Frida Kahlo the painting was mad with very old style but i liked the way it expressed that it was Frida with her monkey and how she used so much passionate colours.This painting was made in the year 1983.

Today we had two rotations this is our second rotation so we learnt about Cambodian  and watched a movie that was a myth the name of the movie was lightning,thunder and rain.

A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!!

Today was the start of Term 3. There was an  Immersion Assembly at Pt Eng
land School. 

Mr Burt shared facts about his life and his family's history.  Mr Burt and his
family  have traveled around the world and collected  different types of hats. 

At our school there were 5 items held from different teams in our school.

There are Topics that they are going to talk about and learn during this term.

Team 1: Their topic for this term is learning about different types of food
they eat in other countries and how they get to school and also what Their
Morning routine is at school.

Team 2: Team 2 is Learning about different countries around the world, but
they are starting off with New Zealand then they are going to explore the
rest of the world.

Team 3: Team 3 did an Amazing race. They are learning about traveling to
different places in this global world.

Team 4: Team 4 is using Google Earth to learn about different countries
and about different types of food.

Team 5: Team 5 is Learning about  Myths from around the world.
We are also going to learn about Sina and the eel and what the legends
and Myths about this amazing story.

I would like to thank all of the teachers for making this term's topic

Satatistical graping (maths)

This week we are working on satistical graphing in this piece of work we got to decide which graph we would use and understand the most.This was super fun learning about grphs we started learning about a new graph.

Life on earth ( Inquiry)

Today for inqiury we did this slide show what we know about the earth well on the slides shows how much we know of the earth.We had written down what we knew first about the earth,then what we wanted to know,then we got to reserch.

Reading Earth systems (Habitable zone) Dictation

This week we learnt how to skim and scan for key in fo mation so this term we are learning about earth systems.This activity was fun and a little hard but at least I tried.

Letter to Miss Tapuke

Dear Miss Tapuke,

My name is Jasmine Fihaki and I am in a 

 family of 5. I have 2 sisters and 3 brothers. I am the youngest
out of all of them.My goal for this year is to always have a
good attitude.

My motto  is be the better me that i could ever be.who mostly
incorrages me is my mum(Teresa)and my ,baby cousin(Lily).
What I like to do at home is to watch Movies,and playing with my

baby cousin.I like to drink flavoured water.

My favourite colour is baby blue,and teal.Then the sport I like to
play,is netball.My hobbies are helping my nana with cleaning,
and playing sports.

In the future I want to  be a chief or a netball-er. My brother

has always wanted to be a lawyer and I am his
supporter.What I am looking forward to this year is
getting along with the year 8 and new people.

The legend of how kava was made

Once up  pod a time there lived a little girl and her mum and dad,they lived on this unknown island but the island was in Tonga. What they used to eat was  fish that they used to hunt for food.one day the king of Tonga and his boys went to hunt and they went too far off the shore and got lost so then they found the island ,where the mother and her husband,daughter lived.One of the kings men found the dad and mum he said'' may you prepare a special meal for the king ''the father replied'' yes but there aint much food but we will try''.On they went well the king rested.One of the men  found the daughter that had lived there then he gave her his sword and teaches her how to cut the branches off the tree. all of the men went to hunt for crabs to eat while they where doing that the mum and dad said''we might need to kill our daughter'' the mother replied'' no why do we need to he can hunt for his self''father replied ''remember he is the king ''as u wish said the mother''.The father pretend to hug the daughter but he actually murders his own daughter the mother tried to stop him but it was too late.the men that found her was calling''kava kava kava '' they also where ruining''. ( You may ask why they where calling kava it was called that because when ever they could hear anyone scream it was signal that someone is getting murder) They told the king these people have killed there daughter for you the king felt gimleted,a year after  that there where plants over the daughters grave. From then on they called that plant kava.(when ever there is a funeral they have kava it is dirty water well sort of)

White sunday Recount

Have you ever been in a white sunday? One sunny Sunday my family and I woke up and got ready to make breakfast. After we made breakfast, we got our ofu for church and my mum told us all to get changed. Then we got changed into our ofu and my sister and I plait our hair. Once we had plait our hair we were all ready to go to church. 

On the way to church we saw  my aunt and my cousins on the way there.My brothers and I were trying to remember our dance and speech.My baby sister was crying because she. didn't want to go to church. Then we finally arrived.

When it was my turn to go and say my speech,I was so nervous because I had to stand by myself and speak in front of a lot of people,we do it every year i think.I was so nervous but then i did my speech without any mistakes.

After our speech we had to do our dance i was doing it with two of my cousins,they were so scared i wasn't because i learnt it.it took a long time to learn how to dance to the beat and get the foot step right.

I felt really nervous at the beginning of the day but once it was over I felt relieved. I was really proud of what I have achieved. I can’t wait until next years white Sunday.
